We’re on a mission to change the stats.
Over 2,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth are graduating school each year but a very small cohort is moving into STEM learning and/or career pathways.
There is a serious under representation of Aboriginal & Torres
Strait Islander people in STEM.
IT’S ESTIMATED THAT STEM PROFESSIONS WILL MAKE UP
75%
OF THE AUSTRALIAN WORKFORCE BY 2025.
However, only 43% of Aboriginal children graduate High School with one STEM subject.
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people make up
3%
of the australian population.
However, they make up close to 0% of the tech industry, instead choosing professions they believe will better benefit their communities, such as health, education, and government.
Through our initiatives, over
1,000
people have attended an indigitek event.
This includes more than 100 Indigenous members from across Australia who are actively engaged and are passionately committed to Indigitek’s vision.
